Medical Educator
Dr. Darwin Deen is a nationally-recognized family physician who has been studying and teaching nutrition for almost thirty years. He is Professor of Family Medicine and Director of Medical Student Education in the Department of Family and Social Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he teaches family medicine, behavior change, and nutrition to medical students and doctors in training. He is former Director of the Regional Center for Clinical Nutrition Education at the New York Academy of Medicine, funded by the National Institutes of Health to train physicians in nutrition. He is co-author of the Whole Grain Diet Miracle and Nutrition For Life, both published by Dorling Kindersley. Dr Deen believes that physicians must become role models to help patients improve their health by making significant diet and lifestyle changes.
Nutrition Educator
Dr. Deen currently practices Family Medicine and nutrition in the Bronx, New York, where he has been taking care of patients for over 20 years. Dr. Deen incorporates nutrition into his medical practice on a daily basis and recognizes the positive role that healthy eating and exercise plays in preventing many medical problems, keeping his patients healthy, and managing the chronic diseases that many American's currently suffer from. Dr. Deen works with an urban population from infants, children, and teenagers to adults and the elderly.
